To 35CM. Softly hairy perennial herb. Rosette of light green silky-hairy leaves. Dense hemispherical flower heads of bright blue flowers at end of stems Oct to Jan.

To 1M. Reed like, spreading in large patches. Flat, erect grass like leaves of varying lengths. Small compact terminal cluster of golden- or red-brown spikelets on long stems Oct to Feb.

To 35CM. Slender tufted perennial. Long slender stems and leaves. Dense oblong panicles with few orange- to reddish-brown 1 flowered spikelets.

To 1M. Reed-like herb with central flower spike. Bright green feathery leaves, fine soft much-divided branchlets weep from a node just below the flower head Oct to Apr.

To 30CM. Erect perennial herb. Bright green linear pointed leaves in whorls of 5-6. Tiny white flowers in groups of 3 Sept to Dec.

To 50CM. Prostrate to erect herb. Velvety grey leaves, decreasing in size up the step. Erect spikes of purple-blue tubular flower, Sept to Dec.

To 60CM. Erect perennial herb. Narrow pinnate leaves, moderately hairy. Tiny, white flowers, with dark purple stamens clumped in groups on a spike Sept to Apr..

1-3M. Tufted semi-aquatic wildflower. Shiny round or kidney-shaped leaves, paler or purplish below, floating, erect in mud or water. Bright yellow flowers, usually 5-petalled, near the top of erect stems up to 1.3m high Oct to Mar.
